Atánquez · Colombia

Atánquez and the Kankuamo.

About a week in Kankuamo territory, in Colombia's Sierra Nevada, with Enosh Arias, El Atanquero.

A little piece of the Sierra that wins your heart.

Where. Atánquez, capital of the Kankuamo Indigenous Reserve, home to 15 communities in Colombia's Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. A town where every street has something to tell.

What you'll live. Stories from the elders. Spinning wool and weaving a mochila with the artisans. Panela and alfandoque made the old way, when the harvest allows. Walks to Chemesquemena and Pontón, and family days by the water at El Mojao and the río Badillo.

Why it's a must. This is our first trip here as a group, so you're there when the seed is sown. Enosh shares Atánquez with the world every day. Now he's sharing it with you, in person.

Led by Enosh. Backed by us.

Enosh Arias, El Atanquero, shows Atánquez to the world through his films and photos: its music, its craft, its elders, its streets. Local guides and the community decide where you go and what is shared.

We're there too, amplifying their work. This is a community-led travel business, so the collective builds it together, finds the partners that help it grow, and handles preparation, logistics and safety so the opportunity holds.

Enosh is part of the School of Elevation, where every community rep is learning digital skills to grow their own business. Your trip backs that too. Meet the School of Elevation →

Questions people actually ask.

What is a discovery trip?

The first time we visit as a group. You come with us to meet the families, learn from them and see what we could build together. Expect warmth and wonder, not a polished package.

Is it safe?

We go where we know people. The route is agreed with Enosh and the community, a local lead is with you every day, and everyone gets a full briefing before flying.

Can we visit sacred places?

Only where the community gives permission. Some places and knowledge stay private, and that is respected.

How every journey works: who leads, where the money goes, flights and groups.

Every journey starts with a conversation.

Tell us who's coming and why, then book a call with us. No payment until we've both said yes.
